Rachel Vaughn, Psy.D., LCSW
Who we are
Dr. Vaughn is a licensed psychologist and licensed clinical social worker with extensive experience in pediatric neuropsychology, psychotherapy, and clinical supervision. She specializes in comprehensive neuropsychological and psychoeducational evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults, as well as evidence-based therapeutic and remedial interventions for youth and families.
Dr. Vaughn earned her Doctor of Psychology from St. John’s University with concentrations in School Neuropsychology. She has advanced training in the assessment of cognitive, academic, executive functioning, and social-emotional development, and has worked across clinical, school, hospital, and community-based settings. Prior to founding Dynamic Minds Treatment and Wellness Center, Dr. Vaughn held leadership roles in community mental health, including serving as a Clinical Director overseeing outpatient and intensive in-home services for youth and families. She also brings significant experience from medical and psychiatric hospital settings, where she provided psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, and care coordination.
Her clinical training includes extensive experience providing individual therapy, behavioral parent training and parent management training, school consultation, and group-based interventions using evidence-based approaches. She has worked closely with multidisciplinary teams to conduct psychoeducational and neuropsychological evaluations and to support students through counseling, educational planning, and coordinated school-based interventions. Dr. Vaughn works with children, adolescents, and young adults experiencing anxiety, ADHD, mood disorders, oppositional behaviors, autism spectrum disorders, and learning disabilities, integrating cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) techniques into her work.
Dr. Vaughn is actively involved in research related to clinical supervision and training. She is a published author and completed her doctoral dissertation on supervisory competency and self-efficacy. She has received specialized training in integrating academic remediation, psychotherapy, and behavioral interventions to address the full spectrum of a student’s academic and emotional needs. She is licensed as a psychologist in New York and North Carolina, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina, and is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist.
